Why is web design important for SEO?
Web design and SEO go hand in hand. If your site looks great but isn’t built for search engines, it won’t rank well. A well-structured, user-friendly site keeps visitors engaged, which tells Google your content is valuable.
You also need to keep in mind factors like responsiveness and speed. Having a responsive website for mobile users is a must since Google ranks sites based on their mobile versions first. Speed also matters, with slow-loading pages frustrating users and hurting your rankings.

What platforms do you offer web design services for?
I provide web design services for WordPress, Wix, Webflow, and Shopfiy. When recommending a specific platform, I always first recommend WordPress, but the others do have their own benefits too.
Whilst I am not able to offer web design services for other platforms, I may still be able to assist with SEO. For example, I have previously worked on websites built with HubSpot and SquareSpace.
Whatever your website is built with, or you wish to build it with, I can always assist, whether it be through my own work or I refer you to someone who can help.

Is SEO part of web design?
I would argue yes, although it is not uncommon to work with developers who do not build a website with SEO in mind. Building your website with SEO at the forefront puts you in a good position moving forward, as your site can begin to rank for your desired keywords. Unlike web design however, SEO is generally an ongoing process that you will monitor often, whilst the overall design of your website is something to review every few years or so.
Does web design affect SEO?
Yes, definitely. The design of your site can directly affect the responsiveness of your website, on both desktop and mobile, alongside the page speed. These are both incredibly important factors that affect how Google views your website. Also, even if your website ranks well for your keywords, a bad looking website can dissuade users from engaging with your services, effectively reducing the number of leads your get from Google and your other marketing avenues.
What website builder has the best SEO?
There is not necessarily a ‘best’ website builder for SEO. I have many websites perform well on a whole range of platforms. However, WordPress is always my go-to, as it offers a lot of scalability and additional options for SEO that other platforms do not.
Can I make changes to my website after you've built it?
Yes, definitely. This is something I show all of the website owners I work with, as it’s important that you understand how to make edits and see how your website works. However, I highly advise that you seek the advice of an SEO professional before making any big changes, as these can affect your position on Google search which, in turn, will affect the number of people coming to your website.
Can you build custom coded websites?
No, this is not something I offer as I do not have the coding experience to build websites from the ground up. However, I can easily refer you to someone who can help with a custom coded website, so please feel free to contact me to discuss.
How much does web design cost?
This will depend on the level of work and the services required. For example, simply auditing the design of your website will cost less than a brand new website. Please contact me for a cost estimate of my services.
